The Ministry of Reverend Mother Stephanie VandeWater (Van)

Reverend Mother Stephanie VandeWater (Van) is a priest, exorcist, and dedicated spiritual helper at Saint Michael’s American Old Catholic Church, with a lifelong connection to the paranormal, and the presence of spirits and those who have passed on. Her journey began in 1977 in Wyoming with a formative spiritual encounter that marked the beginning of a deep awareness of the unseen. Raised primarily in Michigan but having spent her early years moving across the western U.S., Van experienced a dark encounter at the age of 8 in Texas, during a time when her entire family was being plagued by intense nightmares, witnessing one family member receiving the brunt of the dark entities aggression.

Growing up on a Michigan farm with animals and hard work, Stephanie developed strong roots and a sense of purpose. After high school, She served in the U.S. Navy as well as the US Army, both on active duty and as a reservist, ultimately retiring in 2012. Her extensive background in healthcare as a medic and nurse further deepened her empathy and calling to help others—not just physically, but spiritually.

Despite being told as a young girl that women couldn’t become exorcists, Stephanie felt a calling and pursued her truth, eventually becoming a priest and embracing that calling. Reverend Mother Stephanie’s mission is to assist, guide, and protect others from spiritual harm, while honoring the memory of her early encounters and the profound impact they’ve had on her life’s path.
